Embracing This Season with Purpose

September often brings a wave of transformation, ushering in changes both subtle and profound. As the seasons shift and the colors of nature evolve, something within us stirs. The crispness in the air, the scent of autumn, the way the sun casts a different glow—it all reaches deep into our souls. For some, this is a time of renewed motivation, a chance to "finish strong" and sprint toward the year's end with a burst of energy. For others, it's a gentle nudge to slow down, to savor the present, and to move through the remaining months with intention and grace.

Whether you find yourself energized with new determination or drawn to a more reflective pace, I encourage you to embrace this season with purpose. This is your opportunity to clear away distractions and make choices that align with who you want to become. And yes, that might mean getting really good at saying, "no."

You've heard me say it before: "Every choice, every decision you make, is a vote for the person you want to become." Each decision is either moving you closer to or further from the future you desire, the life you’re building, and the goals you’re chasing. As we step into this season of change, it's worth asking yourself: Is there something in your life that you want to see change? Is there a breakthrough you’ve been longing for but feel held back from?

Fall is a powerful reminder that change, though often challenging, can be incredibly beautiful. Yet, many of us resist it. Our brains are wired to keep us safe, to stick with what’s familiar, and to avoid the unknown. It’s why we often feel stuck—it’s your brain’s way of protecting you from the unpredictability of change.

But here’s the thing: your brain believes whatever you tell it. So, what will you tell it as we move forward? What do you truly want for the rest of the year?

Here are a few practical tips to help you harness the energy of this season:

  1. Set Clear Intentions: Take some time to reflect on what you truly want to achieve before the year ends. Write down your goals, and break them into actionable steps. This clarity will guide your decisions and keep you aligned with your vision.

  2. Practice Saying "No": Protect your time and energy by being selective with your commitments. Saying "no" to things that don’t serve your goals or well-being is a powerful way to stay focused and intentional.

  3. Embrace the Beauty of Change: Look around you and notice the changes happening in nature. Let them inspire you to welcome change in your own life. Trust that, like the falling leaves, sometimes letting go is necessary for new growth.

  4. Rewire Your Thinking: Remind yourself daily of what you want and why it’s important. Use affirmations or write down your goals where you can see them. This will help your brain adapt to the idea of change and reduce resistance.

As you navigate this season of transformation, remember that every small step you take is a vote for the person you’re becoming. Whether you choose to speed up or slow down, make sure you’re moving with intention and purpose. The rest of this year is yours to shape—what will you create with it?
